Dimeji is a Real Estate Development practitioner with almost two decades of experience working across West Africa. He has served in various capacities along the real estate value chain – from Feasibility & Investments, to Design, Project Development, Operations and Asset Management. He has also been involved with a variety of asset types with extensive experience in the Hospitality sector in particular.
He is currently principal of D.O.Design Build (DODB), which he established in 2022 to provide design and development consultancy services to investors/promoters of commercial and hospitality development projects. Key projects include the redevelopment and expansion of the Premier Hotel Ibadan into a 150key upper-upscale leisure and conference facility. The firm also carries out its own proprietary development projects including the “The Residences @ 3A Ikoya”; 5 units of high-end townhouses in old Ikoyi.
Prior to establishing DODB, Dimeji was Executive Director, Real Estate at Sankore Investments where he served primarily as Managing Director of the group’s real estate subsidiary, Saunders Development Company. In this role he directed a multidisciplinary team in the development and management of a portfolio of assets in the student/ young professional housing sector.
Prior to joining Sankore, he was Country Manager/MD of Mixta Senegal – a subsidiary of Mixta Africa, a pan-African Real Estate development company with a focus on affordable housing and alternative interests in the hospitality sector. This was preceded by a Senior Manager role within the Hospitality & Retail Investment and Development unit of Mixta Africa, where he functioned as Asset manager of operating assets including the Four Points by Sheraton Lagos and The Corporate Lodge & Cottages at Lakowe Lakes. In this role he also served as development manager on a number of pipeline developments including a 200 key 4-star hotel in Dakar, Senegal.
Dimeji’s other experiences include a role as Senior Manager (Development & Franchise services) for West Africa with the international hotel company, the Louvre Hotel Group; and a role as Real Estate Associate with the Lionstone Group, a proprietary investment company in Lagos. He started his career working as an Architect with the architectural firm, Design Group Nigeria.
Since January 2022 Dimeji has served as a member of the Board of Governors of Dowen College Lagos.
Dimeji Holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Architecture from the University of Lagos, as well as a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has also taken courses in Hospitality management and development from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
Benson Ajayi is the CFO of Mixta Africa with over 28 years’ experience in Finance and Consulting. He was the Executive Director, Finance and Acting CEO at Lekki Concession Company (“LCC”) and played a key role in Nigeria’s pioneering PPP infrastructure project.
Benson has worked in various capacities in Michael Stevens, UAC of Nigeria Plc, NCR Nigeria Limited and ARM. He holds a BSc in Geography and an MBA in Financial Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Sade Hughes is a seasoned Real Estate professional with over three decades of experience in conceptualizing, designing, planning, developing various residential, commercial, and hospitality assets. Her experiences are buttressed by a broad base of real estate, design and construction education and professional development.
She studied Architecture at the University of Lagos, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Boston. She holds certificates in Interior Design from the KLC School of Interior Design London; and Hotel Asset Management from the Cornell School of Hospitality Management.
Before joining Mixta Africa, her career experience includes 16 years as an Architect with Design Group Nigeria where she designed and delivered many high-profile projects across Nigeria; followed by an 11-year stint as founding CEO of Briscoe Properties Limited where she led the transformation of a small-scale facility management company into a full-fledged property development and project management company.
Her passion for the industry is evident in the vigor and attention she continues to apply to all matters relating to the built environment.
